VM PRINT DESIGN / ARTWORKING / EVENT BRANDING

Artworker: Sophia Sargeant

Contracted to artwork the MUSIC MATTERS Oxford Street store windows for Selfridges’ immersive event, partnering with Smirnoff and the Music Venues Trust, putting on 4 months of live music at the Ultralounge in their London department store. Directed by moodboards and sketches supplied by the Creative Presentation team, to produce print-ready files for the windows. Challenges included visualising and calculating correct life-size measurements, working with fabric thicknesses and weight, in order to achieve the desired effect of fabric being draped through the artwork to best display the exclusive capsule collections from the likes of Harley Viera Newton, Rockins, Belstaff and A.F. Vandervorst, with over 400 exclusive products created for the event. Resulted in window displays creating harmony between set design and the exclusive collection. The window displays created an immersive experience pairing with live music within the department store (Skepta and A$AP Rocky opened and closed the event with a live performance) with the dual aim of restoring the joys of live music and reminding visitors once more of the megastore’s pre-eminence in experiential shopping.

Also assisted a separate team with a variety of internal projects including event branding & design, invite designs, email newsletters and more.
